Teaching at the VBS: My year in Austria

Hi! I’m currently an English Teaching Assistant at VBS Mödling for the 25/26 academic year. Helping students gain confidence and reach their “aha” moments has always been the most rewarding part of teaching, which is why I was excited to take the opportunity to teach in Austria. Since arriving at VBS, the staff has been incredibly welcoming, and working with students from all age groups has been both engaging and fulfilling. Whether through small-group discussions or classroom enrichment activities, it’s been rewarding to see students challenge themselves and grow more confident in their English. Outside the classroom, recommendations from staff and students have helped me make the most of my time here. From visiting museums to eating food that span country borders, I’ve been actively engaging in a culture in ways I wouldn’t be able to without this opportunity. I look forward to continuing to work with the VBS community for the remainder of the school year.
